Summary

Trustury is an open-source interface built on the Hedera network that enables management and visualization of digital identity and tokens with a focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) use cases. Launched in 2022 by Meeco, the platform implements W3C Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and integrates with Hedera's Guardian framework for managing tokenized sustainability assets.

The platform's core technical features include Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) capabilities for identity attribute management, enabling regulatory compliance through data minimization and selective disclosure. It supports the Hedera DID Method and provides functionality for token provenance tracking, verification of ESG standards compliance, and management of verifiable credentials. Notable implementations include:

  • Integration with the Guardian Policy Workflow Engine for requirements-based tokenization
  • Support for privacy-preserving audit trails of Guardian-based assets
  • Tools for managing and sharing trusted information associated with tokens and DIDs
  • Compatibility with existing data protection regulations like GDPR, CDR, and CCPA

The project emerged from collaboration between Meeco and the HBAR Foundation, which provided support through its $100 million sustainability impact fund. Trustury has been positioned as a key infrastructure component for emerging sustainability markets, particularly in areas like carbon credit tokenization, emissions tracing, and ESG asset verification. The platform demonstrates practical application of Self-Sovereign Identity principles in environmental markets while maintaining regulatory compliance through privacy-preserving technologies.
