Summary
Source

Sylk Mobile is a privacy-focused communications application that integrates Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) capabilities with real-time communication features. Built on the IETF SIP protocol and WebRTC specifications, it enables secure audio/video calls, messaging, and file transfers while allowing users to manage their digital identity credentials. The app implements end-to-end encryption using OpenPGP for messages and file transfers, and integrates with Hyperledger Indy and the Animo SDK for SSI functionality.

Key technical features include:

  • Support for W3C Verifiable Credentials Data Model
  • Integration with Hyperledger Indy for SSI capabilities
  • End-to-end encrypted messaging and file transfers
  • Native integration with SIP and WebRTC protocols
  • Multi-device synchronization
  • Support for multiparty conferencing

The project was developed by AG Projects with funding from the European Commission's Next Generation Internet programme through multiple grants. Notable collaborations include work with Bloqzone B.V. on the SSIComms project to enable credential presentation during communication sessions. The mobile client is available for both iOS and Android platforms, with the core technology being open-source under the GNU General Public License v3.
