Hypersign is a decentralized identity infrastructure project launched in 2020 that implements Self-Sovereign Identity principles on blockchain technology. Built using the Cosmos-SDK, the platform provides a permissionless network for managing digital identities and access rights through a scalable, interoperable verifiable data registry (VDR). The system is fully compatible with W3C DID specifications and was initially developed on the æternity blockchain network.
The platform's core technical components include Hypersign Studio for issuing and managing verifiable credentials, and Hypersign KYC for identity verification services. Key features include:
DID Communication Protocol for secure data transmissionNotable implementations include partnerships with:
NORDEK Blockchain for DID infrastructure integration
Connect 2 Evolve platform for identity services
Digitalsocial.ID for decentralized identity management
The project aims to democratize access to identity services while maintaining user privacy and data sovereignty through its hybrid consensus mechanism combining Proof of Work and Proof of Stake. The platform supports features like SmartContracts, StateChannels, and Oracles to enable a comprehensive identity management ecosystem.
