Credenco

Credenco is a digital identity company founded in 2021 that develops Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) solutions focused on organizational wallets and credential management. Their core product, Insigne, is a digital identity platform that enables organizations to issue, verify and manage Verifiable Credentials using open standards like W3C DID, X.509, and EBSI.

The company has demonstrated practical implementations through several notable projects. In collaboration with Justis and RET Rotterdam, they developed a digital BOA pass (Special Investigating Officer ID) pilot that replaced physical identification cards with a mobile credential solution. They also received funding from the European Union's ESSIF-Lab program to develop automated validation of digital Certificates of Conduct (VOG). Their technology stack incorporates Zero Knowledge Proofs and blockchain elements while maintaining compliance with emerging standards like eIDAS 2.0. As a member of the Dutch Blockchain Coalition, Credenco contributes to the development of the Dutch Decentralized Identity Profile (DDIP) and works on improving interoperability between different SSI systems.
