Summary

Work X is a decentralized employment platform launched in 2022 that implements Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) principles for managing professional credentials and work-related data. The platform utilizes W3C DIDs and integrates with various SSI wallets to enable users to maintain control over their professional data, including assessments, diplomas, certificates, and work experience verifications. The technical infrastructure is built on a decentralized architecture that includes a DAO governance model and operates through their native utility token $WRKX.

The platform's core technical components include WorkPi, a decentralized application that interfaces with various learning and assessment platforms to create verified skill profiles. These profiles are stored in users' SSI wallets, allowing for portable and user-controlled professional credentials. The system implements integrations with:

  • Learning Experience Platforms (LXP)
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS)
  • HR platforms
  • Assessment tools

Since its beta launch in December 2022, Work X has undergone significant development and restructuring, including a partnership with Inferno Labs and DVERSE for platform enhancement. The project aims to create what they term the "Internet of Skills" - a comprehensive skill database built on SSI principles. In 2024, the platform was acquired by TGE Ventures, marking a new phase in its development. Notable technical features include:

  • DID-based identity management
  • Blockchain-based credential verification
  • Decentralized data storage
  • Token-based governance system
  • Zero-margin cost infrastructure for employment services

Tech Stack Self Description
Source
WorkPi helps people measure and identify their skill gaps by seamlessly integrating with learning experience platforms (LXP), learning management systems (LMS), assessments and human resource (HR) platforms. WorkPi analyzes skills, characteristics and preferences of employees from every sector while storing this personal data in self-sovereign identity (SSI) wallets. Doing so, WorkPi creates the largest skill database in the world to provide people with personalized job and education suggestions. We call it the ‘Internet of Skills’.
