Vibranium ID
Vibranium ID is a digital identity platform focused on providing identity verification services in Africa. The platform implements Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) principles using W3C Verifiable Credentials and Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) standards to enable portable digital identity management.
Key technical features include:
- Integration with
W3C DIDspecifications for decentralized identity management - Mobile wallet application with credential portability and interoperability
- KYC/Identity verification API supporting:
- National ID cards
- Passports
- Foreign/Alien ID cards
- Liveness detection using artificial intelligence
- Support for business identity verification across Africa
The project gained recognition by winning "Best Implementation on the Hyperledger Blockchain" at the UNODC EA hackathon and serves as a Sovrin Foundation Steward, helping maintain their decentralized identity network. Vibranium ID focuses on compliance with regional regulations like the Data Protection Act (Kenya) 2019 and the Personal Data Protection Guidelines for Africa. The platform primarily targets financial institutions, mobile money providers, and businesses requiring KYC verification services in the African market.
