Velocity Career Wallet

Velocity Career Wallet is a blockchain-based digital credential management system launched in 2022 by Velocity Career Labs and governed by the Velocity Network Foundation. The system implements Self-Sovereign Identity principles through a mobile wallet application that allows individuals to store and manage verifiable career credentials.

The platform utilizes several key technical standards including W3C Verifiable Credentials, W3C DID, and DIF Presentation Exchange specifications. The wallet enables users to:

• Store verifiable credentials for employment history, education, skills, and qualifications
• Control sharing of credentials through peer-to-peer connections
• Verify credential authenticity using blockchain-based proofs
• Exchange credentials with Relying Parties through standardized protocols

Notable adoption includes partnerships with major HR and education technology providers like Oracle, SAP, Randstad, and Cornerstone OnDemand. The underlying Velocity Network operates as a permissioned blockchain network with 28 validator nodes run by member organizations. The system uses a utility token called Velocity Credits to incentivize credential issuers and node operators.

The platform aims to create an "Internet of Careers" by providing a decentralized infrastructure for career credential exchange while maintaining individual privacy and data sovereignty. All personal data is stored locally on users' devices, with only verification proofs published to the blockchain.
