Tonomy

Tonomy Foundation, a Dutch non-profit organization launched in 2023, develops Tonomy ID, a cross-platform mobile wallet focused on Self-Sovereign Identity and blockchain integration. The project implements several key technical standards including W3C DIDs, W3C Verifiable Credentials, and supports integration with Antelope blockchain protocols. Tonomy ID is built using React Native in TypeScript and features a non-custodial architecture where user data and private keys are stored exclusively on users' devices.

The project has made notable contributions to the broader SSI ecosystem through work with the W3C Credentials Community Group and Decentralized Identity Foundation. This includes developing the W3C Conditional Proof standard for multiple signature conditions and implementing the Antelope DID Method standard. Tonomy ID focuses particularly on enterprise and government use cases, emphasizing GDPR compliance and secure data management while maintaining user sovereignty over personal information.
