Summary
Source

ShareRing is a digital identity service provider launched in 2020 that develops Self-Sovereign Identity solutions using blockchain technology. The platform implements the W3C DID standard and operates on their proprietary ShareLedger blockchain, which is built using Tendermint and CosmosSDK with a Proof-of-Stake consensus mechanism.

The core product suite includes:

  • ShareRing Me - A mobile app for managing digital identity credentials
  • ShareRing Link - A QR code-based verification system for businesses
  • ShareRing Pro - An extended wallet with additional Web3 features
  • ShareLedger - The underlying blockchain infrastructure that stores credential hashes

Notable implementations include:

  • Integration with Thailand's Electronic Visa On Arrival (eVOA) system
  • Partnership with Rakuten Travel Xchange for hotel bookings across 600,000+ properties
  • Collaboration with financial institutions in the Caribbean region for digital KYC

The platform uses asynchronous hashing to create immutable proofs of verified credentials on the blockchain while keeping actual credential data encrypted and stored locally on users' devices. This architecture allows for selective disclosure of identity attributes through Vault Query Language (VQL) without exposing complete documents. The system supports the W3C Verifiable Credentials standard and implements zero-knowledge proofs for privacy-preserving verification.
