Mission Statement
Source
“MyNextID aims to revolutionize how we think about trust in the digital age. Our mission is to create a trusted infrastructure where all information is verified and everyone can trust the source. We need a new approach centered around digital identity and verified credentials that complies with the latest technology standards and regulations to achieve this.”
Summary
Source

MyNextID is a digital identity platform that implements Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) solutions for issuing, verifying, and managing digital credentials. The platform utilizes W3C Verifiable Credentials, OpenID Connect, and integrates with the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) framework for cross-border interoperability. Key technical features include:

  • Digital Wallet capabilities for storing and managing credentials
  • Verifiable Credentials issuance and verification using ISO/IEC 18013-7 standards
  • Integration with eIDAS regulations for electronic identification
  • Support for mobile driver's licenses (mDL) and other digital documents
  • QR code-based credential presentation and verification

The platform has demonstrated significant technical validation through participation in major interoperability testing events, including a mobile driver's license interoperability test with organizations like Google, Samsung, Okta, and NIST. MyNextID received funding through the eSSIF-Lab Business-Oriented Programme and has achieved EBSI conformance certification for its digital wallet implementation, enabling integration with EU-wide public services.

Notable implementations include digital credentialing solutions for:

  • Educational institutions for diploma issuance
  • Government agencies for identity documents
  • Industry certifications and professional credentials
  • Product authentication and quality certifications

The platform emphasizes compliance with European data protection standards while maintaining user control over personal data through its decentralized architecture. Technical development is led by Netis d.o.o., which actively participates in various digital identity standardization efforts including the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF) and W3C working groups.
