Identiproof is a verifiable credentials (VC) middleware and wallet technology that implements the W3C Verifiable Credentials Data Model
and Web Authentication (FIDO2)
standards. Developed by Verifiable Credentials Limited and later acquired by Crossword Cybersecurity in 2021, the system was designed by Professor David Chadwick, one of the six co-authors of the W3C VC

The technology has demonstrated significant integration with established standards and frameworks through participation in notable technical collaborations. In 2022, Identiproof participated in the Jobs for the Future (JFF) Plugfest, successfully implementing the Open Badges V3
standard for Learning and Employment Records. The system has also been used in government applications, including a > UK Government-funded trial of COVID-19 certificates for East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
Identiproof utilizes OpenID Connect
