DOTI (Digital Online Tourist Identity) is a self-sovereign identity solution designed specifically for the tourism sector. The system implements a mobile application that enables users to create and manage their digital identity through a private key, store personal data and preferences in a cold wallet, and control data sharing with tourism service providers through configurable avatars.
The technical architecture combines several key components: A mobile wallet for secure credential storage, blockchain-based data exchange through the Tourism 4.0 Collaboration Platform, and smart contracts to manage selective disclosure of personal information. The system allows tourists to create multiple avatar profiles for different travel contexts (business, family, etc.) while maintaining anonymity in their interactions with service providers. All data sharing is implemented following GDPR compliance requirements, with users maintaining full control over which data is shared, with whom, for what purpose, and for how long.
