DOTI is a personal digital passport that allows the individual (tourist) to maintain the ownership and full control of own data.
Summary
Source

DOTI (Digital Online Tourist Identity) is a self-sovereign identity solution designed specifically for the tourism sector. The system implements a mobile application that enables users to create and manage their digital identity through a private key, store personal data and preferences in a cold wallet, and control data sharing with tourism service providers through configurable avatars.

The technical architecture combines several key components: A mobile wallet for secure credential storage, blockchain-based data exchange through the Tourism 4.0 Collaboration Platform, and smart contracts to manage selective disclosure of personal information. The system allows tourists to create multiple avatar profiles for different travel contexts (business, family, etc.) while maintaining anonymity in their interactions with service providers. All data sharing is implemented following GDPR compliance requirements, with users maintaining full control over which data is shared, with whom, for what purpose, and for how long.

Notable features include:

  • Decentralized identity management using private keys
  • Integration with the T4.0 Core platform for transparent data exchange
  • Support for Collaboration Impact Tokens (CIT) storage
  • Anonymous communication channels between tourists and providers
  • Selective disclosure capabilities through avatar-based profiles

The project is being developed as part of the broader Tourism 4.0 initiative in Slovenia, which aims to transform tourism through digital innovation and blockchain technology.
