Godiddy is a hosted platform launched in 2022 that provides universal Decentralized Identifier (DID) services across multiple DID methods and networks. The platform enables developers and solution providers to work with DIDs through a unified API interface that supports operations like DID resolution, creation, management, and search across networks including cheqd, ebsi, ethr, indy, and ion.
The platform's core technical capabilities include DID Resolution through the Universal Resolver protocol, DID Management via the Universal Registrar specification, and advanced features like:
- Wallet Services for credential management
- Version tracking of DID documents
- DID transfer functionality
- Historical lookup of DID versions
- Event notifications for DID-related activities
Developed by Danube Tech GmbH, Godiddy received support from the European Union's NGI ESSIF-Lab program and builds upon open-source projects maintained at the Decentralized Identity Foundation (DIF). The platform implements multiple technical standards including the W3C DID Core specification and DIDComm Protocol. Notable integrations include work with the European Blockchain Service Infrastructure (EBSI) and collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on digital identity solutions.
