Summary
Source

Condatis Credential Gateway is a decentralized identity orchestration platform that enables interoperability between different Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) technology stacks and existing identity systems. The platform supports both Hyperledger Aries protocol through Evernym's Verity product and the OIDC SIOP (Self-Issued OpenID Provider) protocol, allowing users to leverage wallets like Connect.Me and Microsoft Authenticator. The solution integrates with W3C Verifiable Credentials and acts as a bridge between traditional identity providers and SSI systems.

Key technical features include:

  • Integration with multiple SSI technology stacks
  • Support for OpenID Connect federation
  • Proof request template handling
  • Compatibility with did:key and other DID methods
  • Integration with Microsoft Entra Verified ID

The platform has seen notable adoption in government and education sectors, with implementations including:

  • NHS Digital Staff Passport for healthcare worker credentials
  • Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology for student credentials
  • Sellafield Ltd for employee identity management

The Credential Gateway was launched in 2020 and has evolved to become part of Condatis' broader SSI middleware stack, which includes additional components for credential issuance, verification, and protocol mediation. The solution aims to abstract the complexity of SSI protocols while maintaining compatibility with existing OIDC-based applications and infrastructure.

The Credential Getaway has a built-in agent for Hyperledger Aries using Evernym’s Verity product and supports the OIDC SIOP protocol, as well as the Self Issued Open ID Provider (SIOP) Protocol. This model allows holders to use an Aries compatible wallet like Evernym’s Connect.Me, as well as Microsoft’s Authenticator app.
