Alauda Wallet
Alauda Wallet is a digital identity wallet application developed by Methics that implements Self-Sovereign Identity (SSI) principles and W3C Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs). Launched in 2023, it is designed to be compliant with the European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) and supports the European Union Digital Identity (EUDI) wallet initiative.
The wallet's core technical features include:
- Support for
W3C DID v1.0standards - Verifiable Credentials issuance and presentation
- Integration with Qualified Signature Creation Devices (QSCD)
- Built-in support for Methics' Remote and Local Signature solutions
- User-controlled data sharing following SSI principles
Alauda Wallet has achieved notable recognition through its EBSI conformance certification, becoming the 14th wallet to receive this status. The wallet successfully passed all three EBSI test scenarios: User Onboarding, Verifiable Credential Issuance, and Verifiable Credential Verify. It is positioned as a bridge between traditional PKI infrastructure and W3C decentralized identity projects, particularly focusing on integration with the upcoming European Digital Identity Wallet framework under eIDAS 2.0.
